We process in our CLIA-licensed and CAP-accredited laboratory in San Francisco. Once your sample is processed in our lab, we’ll send you a HIPAA-compliant link so you and your healthcare provider can download your test results.

    How much does SmartGut™ cost?

    SmartGut™ is an insurance-reimbursed test ordered by a healthcare provider. uBiome clinical tests are fully or partially covered by most health insurance companies under “out-of-network” healthcare benefits. We have patient assistance programs in place to assist eligible patients with the remaining patient responsibility. You may receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance company. An EOB is NOT a bill. It is simply informational and shows how your insurance processed the claim for your uBiome service.

    *SmartGut is also available to patients in Canada, however health insurance cannot be utilized. Canadian patients can take advantage of a prompt payment discount and purchase SmartGut for $599 CAD.
